Terms of Service

Fold is a family organizer app. You use it to manage your household's calendar, tasks, grocery lists, and more. Your data stays in iCloud. We offer a free tier and optional premium subscriptions through the App Store.
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Fold application ("the App," "Fold," or "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you ("you" or "User") and Nadir Aktan ("we," "us," or "Developer"), the developer of Fold.
2. Description of the Service
Fold is a family calendar and household organizer app available on iOS (iPhone) and watchOS (Apple Watch). The App provides the following features:
Free Features (available to all users)
- Shared calendar with monthly, weekly, daily, agenda, and vertical views
- Important dates tracking
- Task lists and task management
- Grocery lists with categorized items
- Local notifications and reminders
- Single household with one member
Premium Features (require active subscription)
- Unlimited household members
- Household sharing via iCloud (invite and sync with family)
- Chat and messaging (household chat, event threads)
- Meal planning and recipe management
- Couple tools: date planner, countdowns, bucket list, wishlist
- Family tools: shared journal, shared notes/memos, documents, trip expenses
- Shared contacts
- Customizable home screen widgets
- Apple Watch companion app
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Fold independently. Children under 13 may use Fold as members of a household managed by a parent or legal guardian. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.
4. Apple ID & iCloud Account
Fold requires an Apple ID with iCloud enabled to store and sync your data. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your Apple ID and iCloud account
- All activity that occurs through Fold under your iCloud account
- Ensuring you have sufficient iCloud storage for data sync
Fold does not create, manage, or have access to your Apple ID credentials.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
5.1 Subscription Plans
Fold Premium is available through the following auto-renewable subscription plans:

Prices may vary by country and are displayed in your local currency in the App Store. Prices are subject to change; existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect.
5.2 Free Trial
New subscribers are eligible for a 3-day free trial. During the trial period, you have full access to all Premium features. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee.
5.3 Billing
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the free trial)
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same rate
- Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription
5.4 Managing & Canceling Subscriptions
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through:
- iPhone: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
- App Store > Account > Subscriptions
Canceling a subscription stops future billing but does not provide a refund for the current period. You will retain Premium access until the end of the current billing period. After expiration, Premium features will be locked but your data will be preserved.
5.5 Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple directly through reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot process refunds.
6. User Content & Data
6.1 Ownership
You retain full ownership of all content you create in Fold, including but not limited to: calendar events, tasks, grocery lists, recipes, messages, journal entries, notes, documents, and attachments. We claim no ownership over your content.
6.2 Household Sharing
When you share a household with others (Premium feature):
- All household members can view, create, edit, and delete shared content (events, tasks, grocery items, messages, etc.)
- The household owner can invite and remove members
- Any member can leave a household at any time
- Deleting a household removes shared access for all members
- We are not responsible for content created, modified, or deleted by other household members
6.3 Data Storage
All user data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account via Apple CloudKit. We do not have access to, cannot view, and do not store your data on any server we operate. For details on how your data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Fold only for its intended purpose as a personal and family organizer. You may not:
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Share harmful, abusive, threatening, or inappropriate content through household chat or shared features
- Attempt to access another user's data, household, or iCloud account without authorization
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App
- Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to interact with the App
8. Intellectual Property
The Fold app, including its design, code, graphics, icons, user interface, and branding, is the intellectual property of the Developer and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
9. Disclaimers
9.1 "As Is" Basis
Fold is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
9.2 No Guarantee of Availability
We do not guarantee that Fold will be available at all times, that it will be free of errors or bugs, or that any data loss will not occur. While we strive to maintain a reliable app, factors outside our control (iCloud outages, iOS updates, device issues) may affect functionality.
9.3 Data Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining backups of important data. We are not liable for data loss due to iCloud sync failures, device damage, account issues, or any other cause. We recommend keeping critical information backed up outside of Fold.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for certain damages, the Developer's liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Developer from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
12. Apple's Role
You acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and the Developer, not Apple Inc.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you
13. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your license to use the App is revoked
- You must delete all copies of the App from your devices
- Your data remains in your iCloud account (we cannot delete it since we don't have access)
- Active subscriptions should be canceled through the App Store to prevent further billing
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- We may notify you through the App for significant changes
- Continued use of Fold after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms
If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the App and cancel any active subscription.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding the use of Fold and supersede any prior agreements.
